COLLEGE DESCRIPTION:
Southwest Virginia Community College is located in the southwestern part of the Commonwealth of Virginia, serving the residents of the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson (partial), Russell and Tazewell.

The College’s Continuing Education and Workforce Services Division creates specialized and customized skill training or retraining for Virginia's workforce. The College works with companies to train a workforce that will be competitive in a rapidly changing technological society.

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), Internet Core Computing Certification (IC3), Certified Internet Web Professional (CIW), Accelerated Information Systems Technology, Fast Track Information Systems programs such as Help Desk Support and Network Security

RESOURCES FOR TRAINING PURPOSES:

  • For the Business and Engineering Division: 7 labs, equipped with instructor stations and/portable LCD’s, 5 labs have 24 computers, 1 lab has 17 computers, I lab has 16 computers SWCC Education and Training Center has 2 labs.
  • Engineering Division is equipped with specialized labs for training Automatic Tech Diesel Mechanics, Welders, Machinist, Computer Technicians, HVAC, Environmental Technicians, Construction Trades, and Engineers
