Virginia Highlands Community College (VHCC) is located in Abingdon, in Southwestern Virginia, and serves the residents of Bristol City, Washington County and the western portion of Smyth County.

CURRENT INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAMS:
The Division of Workforce Training and Continuing Education at VHCC establishes and delivers a total program for retraining, job-specific training, and pre-employment training to foster and promote the area’s economic development. Additionally, community service activities and programs are scheduled to complement these training opportunities. Workforce training programs can be offered at the company’s site, in modern facilities on the VHCC campus, or at a neutral location.

Training programs include: Computer Training, Leadership Development, Supervisory & Management, CPR/First Aid, Blue Print Reading, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Hazwoper, WorkKeys, Lean Manufacturing, Technical/Business Writing and more.

CURRENT INDUSTRIES SERVED:
VHCC serves small businesses, individuals, and larger organizations from a variety of industries. Recent customers include: Columbus McKinnon, Electro-Mechanical and Scholle Corporation

RESOURCES FOR TRAINING PURPOSES:
Mobile computer lab, library, learning labs for air conditioning, heating, general engineering technologies and police science curricula.
