VIRGINIA-BASED HOMELAND SECURITY COMPANY TO EXPAND IN WINCHESTER
-Governor Warner announces Executive Protection Systems to create 30 new jobs-

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Executive Protection Systems (EPS), a homeland security company, will expand in the City of Winchester. Through a $250,000 investment, the company will create 30 new jobs.

“Virginia’s pro-business environment and proximity to the federal government makes it a natural choice for the growing homeland security and critical infrastructure protection industry,” said Governor Warner. “I am pleased that Executive Protection Systems chose to expand in the Commonwealth, creating 30 new defense-related jobs for Virginians.”

Headquartered in Winchester, Virginia, Executive Protection Systems is dedicated to providing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) protective equipment, training and consulting services. With more than 25 years of experience in the security industry, Executive Protection Systems’ client list includes the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Department of Defense and the Virginia State Police. The company is located at 1834 Roberts Street in Winchester.

“Aside from its proximity to Washington, D.C., the Winchester area offers the resources and support needed to grow a business,” said Mark Miller, President of EPS. “We’re both fortunate and grateful to be part of a community where we’re encouraged to expand and afforded the opportunities to do so. It’s a win-win situation for the city, our company and our employees.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Winchester-Frederick County Economic Development Commission and the City of Winchester assisted Executive Protection Systems with its decision to expand. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will support the project with its Workforce Services Program.

“Executive Protection Systems is a company with potential for growth,” said Charlie Gaynor, Chairman of the Winchester City Council. “We are fortunate to have them as part of our business community.”
