Governor Gilmore Announces Expansion of the Rochester Corporation in Culpeper County
-Company announces 35 new jobs and a $10 million investment-
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced The Rochester Corporation, a unit of Tyco Electronics Corporation, will expand its manufacturing plant in Culpeper County. The Company will create 35 new jobs for Virginians through a $10 million investment. Virginia successfully competed with Georgia and Ohio for the investment.
"I am pleased that Rochester is reinvesting in the Commonwealth," said Governor Gilmore. "Manufacturers like Rochester can take advantage of Virginia's pro-business climate and skilled workforce while utilizing the latest technology to increase their productivity."
The Rochester Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electro-optical cables for a variety of applications. They also produce high tensile steel wire that is used as a strength member in undersea fiber optic cables, which carry voice and data transmission throughout the world.
