The Virginia Economic Development Partnership is seeking a PC Support Intern for the Information Technology Division during the summer of 2014 (May-August.) This energetic self-starting individual will perform hardware inventory, provide basic helpdesk support, and document technical procedures. Qualified candidates should be students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate school seeking on-the-job experience in IT.
Knowledge and Skills required:
• Excellent writing, documentation, and communication skills
• Software skills using Microsoft Office - primarily MS Word and Excel
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows
• Familiar with mobile devices such as Android and IOS
• Physical inventory and surplus of obsolete equipment
• Documentation of technical procedures
• Basic Helpdesk support , as needed
This is a wage position working up to 29 hours per week and does not carry benefits. Hours are flexible to accommodate class schedule(s). Hourly rate: $12 - $14 per hour.

Qualified candidates should be recent graduates or students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate school seeking on-the-job experience in GIS. Ideal candidates will have experience using GIS and working knowledge of Esri’s ArcGIS product family. VEDP uses Microsoft Office 2013 software on the Windows 7 operating system. Experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with Microsoft Access is preferred. Applicants should be task-oriented, highly organized, and possess a strong interest in GIS. The qualified applicant will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and communicate effectively with staff.
